Joining Foton is the first step in improving your photography and design skills. You definitely don’t need a very fancy camera, your smartphone is capable of shooting pictures right?
We offer you non mandatory evenings full of practice and instructions, access to our dark room, studio equipment, photoshop lessons, readings and workshops of professional photographers, day and weekend trips and of course a lot of other social activities. Every week, at Wednesday evening at 20:00, we have an activity. Normally we do something in the Vrijhof at the university campus.

Policy regarding the use of English during Foton meetings
Non-Dutch speaking members are as welcome at Foton as Dutch members.
- Lectures and workshops given by other Foton members, will mostly be in English when there are non-Dutch members present.
- Lectures given by invited guests (such as professional photographers) will sometimes be in Dutch. This is because not every speaker has the skills necessary for giving an English lecture.
When you, as a non-Dutch Foton member, cannot understand something, feel free to ask. There will be someone willing to help you at any time.
